What is the UNITY project? UNITY is a circular arrangement of 32 poles in a large field. Each pole is labeled with identifiers such as\, “I’m a parent\; I speak English as a second language\; I identify as LGBTQ\,” etc. With yarn\, community members are invited to tie to each post with which they identify. A canopy of connection forms as more people participate. In the end\, we see that we are all connected by something\, and it's our diversity that builds a strong and vibrant community. \;How to participateShare your storyFill out your personal “UNITY map.” Attend one of the drop-in sessions\, pick up a paper copy at the library\, or download it from our website beginning May 15. \;In-Person: Visit the installation during the drop-in sessions and add your personal story to the art piece. OR participate from a distance: Return your “UNITY map” to the library and we will add your story for you \;(download pdf or online survey).
