Join local textile artist Jen Falkowski in a fun exploration of natural indigo dye. There will be demos of fermenting indigo plants and pigment. You will be able to experiment with fresh leaf indigo and dye a silk scarf as well as hammering a leaf print dish towel. Indigo is a beautiful, fascinating, and versatile dye that you will really enjoy getting to know better.
This workshop will be held outside the lower level entrance, underneath the overhang. Wear clothes that can be stained.
This is the first of three programs exploring fermentation! Join us September 19 for a class on fermented beverages and October 19 to learn about the wonders of sourdough bread.
