Event Details

Monona Public Library has partnered with local artist Rachel Werner (Founder & Creative Director of The Little Book Project, WI; food writer extraordinaire) to produce our first youth-led zine (self-published magazine). The published zine will be available at the library and other organizations in the community to take.

"We Will Not Be Silenced"
This title is used to express that youth voices are important in our community and should be heard. The use of "we" is to show that this is coming from us, THE Youth Voice. We are trying to tell the public that even if we are shut down of our ideas, we will continue to fight for a say in our community.

The amazing thing about zines is ANYONE can submit to them with your own unique interests and skills. Not sure what to submit? Here's some ideas: Art/illustration, poetry, personal essay, short story, collage, recipe, word search, crossword, photography, coloring page, journal prompt, etc.

Want to submit your work? Stop in the library to grab a template page (should be submitted on an 8x5 sheet), or upload your work online at: tinyurl.com/youthzineproject
