"The kind of change we are after is cellular as well as institutional. is personal and intimate, is collective as well as cultural. We are making love synonymous with justice." - Prentis Hemphill
All summer long, you have shared your reflections on this Prentis Hemphill quote. What images does it bring to mind? What colors? What does change look, feel, sound, and smell like? What is the root of our work together?
Local artist, Maria Schirmer Devitt, has been gathering all of your ideas and forming them into a vision. Now it's your turn to help make it a reality! On the 13th, we will be making a painted community quilt. Using spray paint and acrylic paint we will create a reminder of how we are all connected to one another. This quilt will be on display in the library.
This is a drop-in event. Stop by anytime between 1-3 pm. Maria will lead you through supplies and techniques then you will have open time to experiment and create. Come wearing clothes that can get paint on them (the paint is not washable).
ALL AGES- Children, teens, tweens, and adults are invited! We will gather outside, under the overhang by the lower level entrance.
