"Let's Explore Books About Wisconsin Wildlife"

A free nature education program. Youth Services Coordinator, Karen Wendt along with Wisconsin Master Naturalist, Deborah Proctor and various guest presenters will entertain families with children's books about nature and wildlife at a special event that is part of a monthly series “Nature Explorers! Kids Naturally.”

  • Play an I Spy Animal Tracks game. Learn how to locate and identify a few Wisconsin wild animal tracks.
  • Different animals use different strategies to get ready for and survive the winter. Learn about different winter survival tactics and play a game matching animals to their strategies.
  • Draw a poster to celebrate 100 years of Children's Book Week! Posters must include: the slogan "Read Now Read Forever" and the words "Children's Book Week 100th Anniversary"

Registration of one contact person is encouraged, so we can alert you if there are any changes to our plans. Walk-ins are welcome. Siblings are invited to attend.

Why? “If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder… he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.” – Rachel Carson, The Sense of Wonder
