Join us at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center for an introduction to the Bird City program. ALNC Naturalist Brian Schneider will talk about the importance of birds in the ecosystem and how Monona is striving to create an urban area that is friendlier for birds, where green space is protected and managed, citizens are engaged in conservation action, nesting structures are built and erected, landscapes are planted with native species and threats to birds are reduced. We will walk through the prairie, weather permitting, and create a hanging bird seed feeder to take home. Please note we will be meeting on-site at the Nature Center, 330 Femrite Drive, in Monona. There will be free refreshments and a door prize. Adults and older children are welcome. Sponsored by MGE and Willy Street Co-op. Registration is limited to 30 attendees so sign up soon!
