Accessory Dwelling Units:

Is There a Granny Flat in Your Home’s Future?

Susan Thering of Design Coalition Institute will introduce us to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). You may have heard of Granny Flats or Garage Apartments, both are ADUs. In other words, “an accessory dwelling unit is a really simple and old idea: having a second small dwelling right on the same grounds (or attached to) your regular single-family house, such as: an apartment over the garage, a tiny house (on a foundation) in the backyard, even a basement apartment.“ Thousands of ADUs have already been built in communities on the West Coast; find out how and why these small dwellings could be beneficial in Monona! There will be free refreshments and a door prize. Adults and teens are welcome. Sponsored by MGE and Willy Street Co-op.
