Nature Explorers: Kids Naturally Story & Activity Hour

"Let's Explore the Sky!"

A free nature education program.

This month UW Space Place, Kay Kriewald will show you what planets and constellations are currently visible in our night sky. Find out more about the kings, queens and animals that watch over us in the sky and learn how yo find them.

Regarding the importance for children to learn about nature through books and hands on experiences, Kay Kriewald states “making a connection between storytelling and then actually finding seeing the constellation for themselves is a way to make a lasting impression."

Do you know how to find the Big and Little Dippers in the night sky? How about Orion the hunter or the queen Cassiopeia? Or do you ever just gaze into the sky and wonder what all those celestial bodies out there are? Well here’s your chance to find out!

Registration of one contact person is encouraged, so we can alert you if there are any changes to our plans. Walk-ins are welcome. Siblings are invited to attend.

Why? “If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder… he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.” – Rachel Carson, The Sense of Wonder
