Thursdays, June 14, 21, 28 July 12, 19. 
For children ages 8 to 13 years old who have an interest in learning to tell a story. Storytelling improves language skills, boosts memory, develops creative thinking and imagination, enhances cultural understanding. 
      Children in this 5 week workshop will receive step-by-step instructions on effective story selection as well as learning and telling predetermined stories. At the end of the workshop, children who have learned and practiced a story will be invited to present it to families and friends at a Storytelling Concert on Thursday, July 19th at 5PM! 

Registration is Required. Space is limited. 
Location: Monona Public Library

Week 1: Introductions, meeting structure, story genres. 
Week 2: Group support, creating tellable stories. Purpose: To help students take familiar tales and make them their own by adding their own ideas. To encourage students to work together. Choose a story.
Week 3: Choosing and practicing stories to tell.
Week 4: Learning story sequence. Telling stories.
Week 5: Performance.
